Guy's Garage was first established in the late 60's by Arthur Guy at Gateside Farm (now Gateside Commerce Park) before moving to the building which is now known as Jet Service Station. Arthur ran the one man business at the above premises before expanding and moving on to other premises in St Martin's Gate opposite the old Tannery. The final move came in the mid 70's to Peppercraig Quarry where the business still thrives under the ownership of Craig and Ronnie Golightly.
Craig joined the motor trade on leaving school, taking up an apprenticeship with Inverleith Garages Ltd in Dunbar, which at that time was East Lothian's leading Rover dealership. Craig successfully completed his apprenticeship and when Inverleith closed it's business, he joined Guy's as a mechanic, later becoming a partner. Upon the retrial of Craig's business partner in 2007, Peter McGillivery a local mechanic from Gifford joined the team at Guy's. Having recently retired from the Fire Service Ronnie rejoined Guy's as Business Manager where father and son now work together, providing customers throughout East and MidLothian with a local, friendly, reliable service.
